The Value of Outside Help In Optimizing Your Practice

The focus of this newsletter is Practice Optimization. Aside from the various tips provided, the subject precipitates a couple of logical questions:


          What does the term “practice optimization” even mean?

   

          What is the fastest, easiest way to achieve it?


I suggest you consider the following as you think about “practice optimization” in your practice – first, think about your lifestyle goals, everything from financial and business goals to time spent with family, and then focus on structuring your practice to support those goals. 

I suggest something along the lines… having a practice that allows me to earn more, keep more, and exit at maximum value when I am ready to transition.  I want to be able to do it consistently, predictably, and with minimum stress. 

What “practice optimization” means can vary greatly from one dentist to the next.  It’s important for you to define it for yourself and not accept anyone else’s standards.


If you examine most exceptional high-performing practices, you will find that the vast majority work with external coaches or consultants.  Why?  The simple answer is there are proven models for success that, if learned and repeated, will replicate a high-level result.  Virtually every world-class performer, particularly athletes, works with coaches to improve their performance.  Think Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods.  So, why wouldn’t you?
